When you’re learning how to use a Big Blade snow shovel, it’s important to follow a basic guideline. You should start in the middle of the area to be cleared and work side to side, this way the snow doesn’t have a chance to build up and get heavy. The snow will be right where it needs to be, then turn around and do the same thing on the other side of the surface to be cleared.

Always try to use the tool the same way as to develop a beveled edge on it, so when needed, you can flip it over and use it to clear tire pack snow from the any surface.

When ice removal is desired start by allowing the sun to heat up the surface a bit even if it’s still below freezing the sun will beat on and melt some of the surface ice this will help loosen it from the surface. Then by making the first break 3-4” in from the edge, and working back until all the ice is all broken up.
